A Quebec coroner has stated that a teenage girl who was suspected to have died after kissing her boyfriend who had eaten peanut butter, did not die as a result of having an allergic reation.
The Coroner refused to say exactly why she did die, but said that she didn't give herself an injection because she was not having an allergic reaction. Nevertheless, the risk posed from secondary contact with nuts are very real. Recent studies have shown that even if someone who has eaten nuts cleans their teeth thoroughly, nut traces will still be present in their mouth for around five hours after cleaning.
